This is kind of like slating someone for eating out at a restaurant because they could have just made the meal at home.

Exactly.

If I wanted my car remapped, I wouldn't even entertain a RS tuner style generic map. I'd rather give it to someone like RS tuning, who knows what they're doing. I can barely operate itunes let alone upload an RS tuner thingy.

Think it boils down to the service you receive, the OP is happy with his results and more importantly the service RS tuning gave him. Yes he could have done it himself but wanted a trained expert to do it.

nail on head mate

im quite new round here but ive noticed how some cs members cant wait to rip a trader to death because so far up another ones arse....

Thats generally how much maps cost mate

Ah OK thanks, so really, this all started we don't actually know how much he paid? Not that it really counts! People shouldn't be attacking people potential profits just because they might be 'knowledgable enough' to do the same on their own! Its just like saying your an idiot for taking your car to a mechanic to fix your engine when you could have done it yourself for nothing... When you might not have a clue where to start! Just some people's way of making them feel more superior than others!

  Now Sold :-(
2 x rolling road runs for before/after figures = £100
1 x RSTuner + map £150
The chance you may make a complete ar*e of it and end up with a dead ECU.
Total cost £250

Take it to a reputable tuner and get a custom map suited to your car/mods with peace of mind including before/after RR runs.
Total cost £300

Not a great deal in it is there. We all make our own choice.

I'm no expert but there looks a reasonable improvement in the torque graph that I'm sure the OP will notice on the road.

I really don't get this at all, and I'm pretty shocked at how cuntish some people have been.

OP is happy with the results, there is no argument that a live map is better than a generic map and we all know full well that maps on clio's don't produce significant increases in the figures.

Paul doesn't do as some companies do whereby they bullshit that a remap will give you 200bhp with an exhaust and filter. He's honest about what gains are to be had from the map. There is no element of deception going on.

So where is the problem?

It'd be pretty good to see 1 clio on the same day be put on the RR, get a print out, have the RSTuner cal put on, ran again, and then have a custom map and ran again so the differences in bhp/torque and smoothness of the power delivery can be compared properly and accurately.

Some right cuntish behaviour on here in the first page. I've known Paul a good few years now and had major work done with him. Not once have I ever felt liked I'd been raped, and I've been raped by a "specialist" on here before.

Paul's work is top notch and whoever made the comparison of food made by your self and a restaurant and the £250 or RST or £300 remap with Paul, then they are spot on.

And surprising who they were made by too. If I was Paul I'd be rightly pissed, I'm sure on reputation alone he wouldn't even need to bother being a trader on here.

Ive had 3 cars mapped at rs tuning and everyone was worth it,as above if you cant trust paul who can you ?

Yep, I was largely amused that it ran (before mapping) less on k-tecs rollers than RS Tuning, and yet numerous threads in the last 4 months and half of CS has spent time questioning K-Tecs rollers, particularly in respect to 438s.

I know every rolling road and RR output will vary, but I find a lot of irony that threads slating some traders cause such a reaction, yet the same treatment of other traders is par for the course on here.

Either way, I personally feel traders on here get grief whatever they do. Which is a sad state of affairs. They offer products, it's upto us if we buy them. Not having traders on here would make it a worse place IMO.

Out of interest anyone had a map at rs tuning with 438's? Wondered what results are like compared to ktec's figures
