Grinding noise.

  Octavia vRS
Hi all,

I got in the car this morning, and I could hear a grinding noise from my front drivers side wheel. I haven’t had the car jacked up yet, so I haven’t had a look. If I go over about 30mph I can’t hear the noise. Brakes have only been changed about 6 months ago so i don’t think it will have anything to do with them. Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers

grinding would suggest the brakes..?

what parts where changed on the brakes? disks? or pads? or both?

i recon it might be your pads grinding..? does your brake light flicker on your dash board occasionally?

ALSO...

has your car been lying in the driveway for a period of time? i left mine undriven for a couple of weeks...and the rust and pish built up on the disks...

a few blasts from the brakes cleared it off..

I have found out what the problem is, my drive shaft has gone on my car. I have only got 35K on the clock and I never rag it around... guttered. Any I deas on how much this is going to cost me?
