GEARBOX ISSUES

This is my first post to this forum so apologies if I am posting in the wrong area, the gearbox in my 2002, 172 is making a rattling noise!!! I have taken it to my mechanic and also to a gearbox specialist they've have told me that I need to recondition it or get new one! Can anybody recommend somewhere to get a gearbox from and somewhere that could do the job for me? Preferably someone that you've used before, really worried about getting screwed over, they told me it would take about eight hours to fit the new gearbox, is this the case? If anyone has had it done, would really appreciate some advice. Thanks
