Did have a R27
Hi guys
Ive just got back from an epic day at the Renault heritage collection visit at the Renault factory in Flins sur Seine.
And i thought i would share my story with yah all. Pics will follow soon as soon as i get them off my bro.
We set off today early doors to get us to the Factory in good time using the eurotunnel and after giving my LY R27 a good run all the way down the A16 toll road towards Paris which cost a whopping 19 euros for just one toll. We arrived at the factory after booking in and having our cameras taken off us and mobile phones camera lenses blanked out. We walked over to the main workshop where a few classics and F1 machinery were being worked on. We recollected our cameras because we wasn't allowed them on us as we walked through the main part of the Factory.
After about 45mins waiting and looking round we were led to the main part of the tour. Unfortunatly it was all in French but we made do with just looking. We were led to a warehouse at the side of the main site and went through a door up a stairwell that was very 1970s with lots of cobwebs. Till we got to the top of the stairs where we were met with two small metal doors with a simple padlock. The guide opened the doors and shuffled us all in to a very dark room at the top of the warehouse. And like something from a movie he turned the lights on. Fellas what happened next was like every renault fans wet dream as sets of lights continued to light up rows and rows of Renault classics, Race cars, F1 cars, Concept cars, spare Engines and even vans all under protective films.
There was about 8 or 9 R5 maxi 2 turbos, There was Alan Menus Btcc Car from the 1990s to Mansells and Prosts F1 cars. This place is the Aladdins cave of Renault history. You name it they had one in there of Renaults from era's past. The place is well worth the visit and bearing in mind it is in French worth the trip.
