Final Cut Pro X

Buying an iMac in a couple of weeks and i am wondering if i should include Final Cut Pro X?
It is for editing GoPro footage. I know it's a bit of a wedge to be paying out at £200 as i am a complete novice in editing and imac's in general.
But, that said, what are my other options? Is anything as good as FCPX?

I am a bit noobish at editing and find that imovie (which comes with macs) does everything ive ever needed to do so far. I would try that first tbh, can always buy other software after
