Stunning looking car, and some great photos of it too :)

Looks a lot like my friends in fact which I really enjoy driving, same colour wheels on the same red car etc.
Although his is a couple of hundred bhp more and has got a decent gearbox.

Thats the only problem with these cars, although he's got everything else quite nicely sorted on that one you've linked to he's going to get a big bill for transmission if he ever wants decent power out of it :(

I love them.....but not in red :p

I really like them in blue like this one:

711bhp that one was, and definately one of the quickest cars ive driven, we got 194mph out of it at brunters.

Bit noisey though, hence the fingers in my ears, lol

Lol no its not actually Doug's just its twin it would appear.

You seen his yellow one? I really love the look of that one although its only about 450bhp so a bit on the tame side powerwise compared to his red one.

very nice, makes me miss my dads, he had an imperial blue, big turbo model tuned to 350 bhp , was an absolute animal.

they get better and better looking as time goes on and always turn heads.

They have risen in price like the rs500 did, my dad bought his in 2004 for around £14,000 there like £20,000 plus now for a good one so a good investment if you bought one back then and want to sell it!

Actually mate, the last few years the prices of the escos have started to come down, where as the rs500 have gone nuts.

You can get a good escos now for half what you can get an rs500 for.

Ive seen quite nice escos change hands for 10K recently, which I never would have thought would happen!

really, TBH i havent kept an eye on the prices, just noticed that good condition, low mileage ones can be around £20,000

my dad stupidly passed up buying a 400 BHP moonstone silver RS500 to get his escos, what an investment that would have been! It was only £15,000 at the time and now there like £30,000 + arent they?

Yep 30K is pretty much ropey 500 money these days.

Wish my mate hadnt crashed mine 10 years ago, lol!

i grew up in sapphire, sierra and escort cosworths, such fun cool cars, but always breaking lol! my dad went through 3 engine rebuilds in 8 years along with driveshafts and other things.

A moonstone one, but 90mph backwards into a solid bank did it no favours.

Was a bit of a tired example anyway, and we rebuilt it into a 1600 hatch shell.

Engines are normally ok if built and mapped right, but the transmission on the 4wd saphs and escos's is very frail :(

Iconic cars though, properly love them!

Mallard Green with 18'' Rondells is better.

Used to work on one for a bloke who won the lottery (Blew up gearboxes for fun) Tuned to 450bhp. Some tossers broke into his house and it got nicked and was never seen again. He just went out and bought another identical colour and age but totaly stock, took it to the tuners and said, do this one the same please

My mate has a replica he built himself. The effort he's gone through would have been better buying a real one.

The rep has been in le garage for about 6 years too, much like a real one probably would.

Were these radiant red the same as my old J reg fiesta XR2i.

The red in the flesh had a real nice deep shine.
