engine mounts symptoms.

for a while now my exhaust has been knocking on the subframe, also when excelerating hard in 1st gear it makes a knocking noise.

basically are these both symptoms of failing/failed engine mounts?
iv looked into the uprated k-tec engine mounts, would it be worth buying the full mount kit or just replace the one topmount?:S

any help would be great,

Go for the lower dogbone first (powerflex), it's cheap and easy, most specialists on here can do it in half an hour, price should be £60-70. Mine had started knocking every now and again, it doesn't now the powerflex dogbone is done. Gearbox feels much much better too!

im sure when i bought the car last year the guy mentioned he had the dogbone mount replaced. if thats the case what other do i change? just the two tops isit?
sorry to sound dull about all this just trying to save money!
