Ebony Black Lotus Exige S Enhancement Detail

Hi all, I was called over to Bell and Colvill Lotus last weekend to give the paintwork on a Lotus Exige S a much needed uplift. The plan was to give it a single day enhancement and make sure it is looking the best it can for resale.

Apologies for a lack of photos on the wash stages, we were in the morning sun on one of the hottest days of the year, cleaning a black car, which isn't the easiest of tasks!

A few before's -

starting as usual with the wheels and arches, then the bodywork was pre-soaked with Citrus prewash to remove light fallout and general road grime.

The car was then hand washed with the two bucket method, decontaminated and dried off inside.

Moving onto the paintwork, it was in a bad way; lacking clarity and it was the first thing noticeable in the bright sunlight.

With limited time I set about removing the majority of wash marring and light swirls.

After a few trials with the Rupes Bigfoot system I finally found a good combo, showing the difference -

Some amazing colours started to show on the corrected panels -

The finish was added to with AMSeal, trims dressed with Auto Finesse Revive, metalwork brightened with Mercury and wheels sealed with C2v3.

Not the greatest writeup because of time limits but hopefully the finished pictures do it justice!

And tucked away in the showroom!

The salesman was overwhelmed with how good it looked compared to the Exige behind that was three years younger! The next day a customer came in and commented on how amazing the condition of the car was, so I think it made an impact! :)

Thanks for reading and I hope you've enjoyed.

Comments, chat and views always welcome.

Not a fan of the exhaust but that is stunning. Love the S2 Exige. Infinitely better looking and more purposeful that the newer one.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. :)

Agree a bit on that from the photos but it looks good irl!

Thanks bud, they have some awesome new ones coming in this week!

I absolutely loved how they looked, but the inside slightly puts me off. I'm sure a drive would change things!

Incidentally I know a guy that used to drive his Red Exige everyday. Wind, rain and snow.
