DV8's Titanium Silver 182

DV8

  Clio 182, Civic EK9
Picked up my first Renault a few weeks ago - Titanium Silver 182 with 46k on her. Already had a Clio Sport sticker on it so must of previously been owned by an enthusiast.

Thought i'd start a thread to track the mods - nothing major planned as i'd like to keep her standard-ish (yeah right...).

Mod 1 - Spacers

That car in the background looks like a serious piece of kit, at a guess I'm thinking probably the cleanest turbo installation ever too. Truly magnifique! Mange tout Timmy!

Decided to go for a bit of an Audio Upgrade. Gone for the Pioneer direct replacement speakers for the front - really impressed with the fitment of these.

Original Door Speakers:

Dash had to come off to fit the tweeters:

While the Dash was it off it gave me access to a crap load more space so i could fit a new Headunit and stalk control. Due to the bulkiness of the connectors this seemed almost impossible without the dash top off.

No fitted pics as everythings hidden now. LOL

Also got some 10mm rear stub axle spacers to go on as the 15mm seemed to rub a bit:

My car already had spacers fitted when I bought it but I think it's one of the best mods you can do on a 182, I've always thought the wheels seemed so lost in the arches, makes it look brilliant from the back :tonguewink:

Cheers mate, I originally wanted a funky colour but it added on an extra £1k for most examples... with more mileage...

Bit more maintenance...

Exhaust decided to separate itself from the manifold thanks to some failed washers - which left me with a ridiculously loud car and a nasty cough:

@incy-spider Got it sorted for me with a new exhaust fitting kit and bunged in a brand new Bosch sensor at the same time.

More mods

Decided the rear speakers could do with an upgrade too (Old & New):

Also a pic of the Headunit - added a little Nür graphic too it:

Gave the Headlights a mild restore and seal (they weren't too bad to begin with and look like the previous owner had already had a go):

I was also running vynil washer blanks (as seen above) while i was waiting to get some proper ones - these are now on:

BIMECC 15mm Front Spacers
Pure Motorsport 10mm Rear Hub/Stub Spacers

Dumped the 20/15mm set up as i was getting rubbing from the rear

My lip was looking a bit sorry for itself, think its a carbon KTEC one. Lacquer was chipped and in the centre there was a crack that had been bonded together.
Thought i'd try filling the damage wrapping it with CF vinyl - if it didn't work i could always paint it black.

Filling the central crack:

Vynil Applied - think it turned out quite well. Sadly had to add two joins but still an improvement.

Also went ahead with de-badging and fitting the new badge :)
IMG_3977_zpsas8pb6ly.jpg

When removing the Clio badge pins i found the boot cavity was stuffed with two cushions... they came straight out... LOL

Badges removed and then on to machine polishing:

And the results :)

Looks very fresh! Really tidies up the rear end with that style badge.

Love the CF washer blanks, but not a fan of vinyl on the splitter.

Really need to restore my headlights!

Cheers mate!
With the splitter it was only really a choice of Paint it black, apply vinyl or remove it and buy a new one.
The Vinyl looks a lot better in the flesh (almost like textured matt) and seeing as its real carbon underneath its 'almost' ok...

Hehe I know what you mean. Would have been a shame to throw away a real carbon one. I'd probably have been tempted to do it black though. Looks great as a whole though.

Titanium 182's always look so 'fresh' when they're clean and new badge finishes the rear off nicely.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread :)

Another service update; oil, filter and plugs changed thanks again to @incy-spider. Only thing left to do now is the air filter but I quite fancy the KTEC induction kit. We'll see.
Also ordered some Xsara washer jets as mine are blocked and dont seem to have a great pattern.

Ok cheers. I have shims on the rear which push the wheels out slightly. I'm changing to a different offset wheel and suspect I will need front spacers

LOL at the cushions stuffed into the boot lid! Must have been an attempt to cure a rattle?
Fantastic work so far on the motor

Thanks mate! :)
The exhaust seems louder in the car after removing them so that would be my guess. Silly idea though.

Had the wheels re-painted - looked at various options in the gunmetal grey area. In the end went for Renault Lunar Grey as i wanted them to be a bit different. Looks great in the flesh with a slight blueish hue depending on the sun.

Better pics soon - Cheers to @incy-spider for the pro Tyre fitment.

Had a go at taking a couple of shots at night with some lighting with the clio as the subject. Turned out ok i think, lots learned. Think the car is kinda difficult to photography, really needs the right angles.
