DSL jack issue, any experts here?

Having a bit of a mare here; attempted to move a DSL jack from one point on a wall to another, except the bloody wiring came out of the back plate. Naturally, one would assume the wires are colour coded to the sockets that they go to. I have a blue and a green wire, which i've connected back up to their matching coloured terminals, but it doesn't seem to work when I connect my modem to it :/ can anyone shed any light?
