Driveshaft poss gone, wheel feels like it's going to fall off!

On my 1.2 today I noticed it bumping asif I had a flat tyre I thought to myself if it persists after changing roads (could be down to road surfacing) I shall get out and check it over. Anyhow I turn the corner and it makes some really nasty knocking sounds when turning right I think it's N/S Driveshaft cv joint. Any suggestions?

Can I replace the cv joint easily enough (moneys tight).
Could it be anything else?

I put it in neutral and it still does it so I think that counts gear box out?.

The faster you go the more it should feel like the tracking is out and the steering will shake violently, if thats what your getting then its your drive shaft. Some propshaft specialists will do a refurb on yours if you want to save money, but you will have to wait for that and not have your car on the road. Alternative is to go to a place like www.eurocarparts.com, they will take your old shaft back on an exchange basis to give you a bit of money off.

In terms of doing the job yourself, if your fairly handy with a spanner you could do it yes. But phone around for a quote from local garages.
