does anyone not mod their cars?

Well my 200 is here and get it next Saturday...

In 7 years had 4 clios from new

2002 - 52 plate 1.4 16v Dynamique
2004 - 54 plate 182
2007 - 57 plate 197
2009 - 59 plate 200

The most I have done to any of them was silvervision bulbs in the 1.4 and 182.

Am I alone in not modding cars in anyway?

Loads of people dont modify their cars dude, I however do but i treat it as more of a hobby than anything else. Just a bloody expensive one ha ha ha.

  ALBI 197 Sonic MKII
I always have a list of mods, although mainly cosmetic. The only performance type mod I'll actually do is change the exhaust, but I'm only doing it for the noise :)

  S3, Polo
Standard spotless cars FTW

^ This.

Replacing all the bits that fail is keeping me on my toes! *

* I bought my car with some easily sorted 'issues' so until the car is perfect, I'm not modding it... **

** Apart from fitting Eibachs to replace the shocking Apex thast were on it when I bought it!

  LY 200
The only ever must for me is a good aftermarket filter really!

Bar that im pretty much a standard bean also.....Until i get bored!

even my cars not standed cause ive added a spoiler ;) Eibachs next

little things like sill trims ctr Ariel Renault badge all make it more personal :D

I did my first car, havnt bothered with rest...lack of money/would rather just buy a better car with the money

Same - silvervisions are as far as I'll go this time. Looking back on previous mods I've done makes me cringe. I won't win many friends here, but I have to say when I see people painting their Renault badges and stuff it makes me shudder! Standard all the way!

Im abit wierd on this.

I wanted to mod when i didnt have the monies.. but now that i do, i cant really be bothered. You effectively de-value the car and loose money when selling the parts so its simply not worth it imo.

I have modded my cars, purely because i have got bored and wanted to change them.

I have to mod my CS when i get one, since it makes insurance cheaper. But i dont really want to, not yet anyway.

Not alone at all, mine's pretty much standard. It's only had silvervisions, white interior bulbs and the C L I O badge taken off the back. I'd rather save the money from modding for future cars and other things.

Sometimes it NEEDS to be done. My first car:

Better or not?

I think it depends on the model.

182 trophys, 197 cups v6's IMO look great in standard guise.

I do however think my 172 now looks better after the mods.

Sometimes opens you up to specialist insurers I think?
Exactly, when getting quotes for a 182, it is about £300 cheaper to go through brentacres' modified scheme than go with the cheapest standard quote i have got. I can do an easy mod like lowering for £150 and i am £150 up :D

Agree, I could live with a unmodded Trophy, but not an unmodded 172/182/197

Brentacre & AF both gave me ridiculous quotes when I looked last January.

I never mod mine, maybe a set of clear repeaters but that's about it. I never change the wheels or seats etc.

my first car was a fiesta i spent thousands on gettin in to my own personal taste which is what modding is about, bein individual and havin fun doin it although it can cost alot, my clio has a few bits done to it and i love it too bits because its done to my style, end of the day it falls down to personal taste on too mod or not

My car started off standard but most of my mods are because if something needed changing I've fitted uprated parts. In order of fitting my mods are Ktec stealth exhaust, Vmaxx coilovers, Tarox G88 grooved discs, DS2500 pads, Goodridge lines, 307 splitter, Si's tow eye, Ktec uprated engine and gearbox mounts, Ktec panel filter, and Mazda 3 MPS ariel.

If my car was worth modding I would, but it's a 1.2 so abit of a waste of money.

Once I upgrade I'll start modding, but not much as throwing money into something your only going to lose on is abit silly really.

  White clique
I never modded any of my Clios, in fact the only car i ever modded was my first car, Uno Turbo.

To be honest the Clios did the job perfectly well for me, i didnt see the need to try and improve on it.

  330Ci (Fail)Sport
Never modded a car before my 172 as didn't feel it was worth it. The mods to my 172 have improved it a lot over what I thought was already a good car as standard.

My current and future mods are really only to increase overall performance because I want to take it on track and potentially keep it as a track car whenever I buy something else.

They are the 2 cheapest for me, strange that, dont know how old you are but these companies seem to be keen on the young (<21) market.

I only mod stuff that breaks/needs to be replaced, hence my car having a stainless exhaust and probably some uprated suspension soon.

My wheels are cos i like cheap tyres lol
