Sooo...
Loving the Mac but have found another pretty stupid thing within the OS. Was copying some folders over to my external and one of the folders had the same name as another.
When I copied it over it asked if I wanted to replace said folder on the external. I clicked yes, but it turns out that OS X stupidly erases all content within the folder that is being copied to, instead of merging them like EVERY other system i've ever used!
There is no warning of all data within the target folder being erased, which is more than annoying...
It's not a massive file luckily but I think I've now lost other files that I can't yet recall due to this little 'quirk'.
