Comnecting a Sound Bar to Xbox One/TV

Get yourself an optical cable. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/digital-optical-audio-male-to-male-1m-n09ja

If you only need your Xbox One to use the soundbar, use the cable between those two. Then continue to use your HDMI to the TV for video. You'll need to change the settings on the Xbox to send audio over optical.

Alternatively if you need your TV to use the soundbar (inbuilt freeview?) you could send the Xbox audio to the TV via HDMI (as you currently do), then (if your TV has it) send an optical cable from the TV to the soundbar. The only problem with this, is most TVs don't support true surround in the optical out, so it might not be great.

This is an optical cable: , but you might want to check how long you need it to be.

Thanks, got that working very well, well happy!

However, I Want to add Sky TV now, Im going to get a second Sky box installed, which I want to play through the sound bar. My TV is a Samsung 32" LCD, it was a decent £500 TV when I bought it, but its around 4 years old so possibly wont have an Optical out? Would using an Optical Splitter work and both the Xbox/Sky Box gong through the optical port on the Sound Bar?

Thanks
