clio speedo pod repair or replacement

Hi, my parents 2003 model dci80 speedo has illumination problems, theres so many LED's failed its becoming difficult for them to monitor speed/revs at night, theyve been to renault who were talking in the 100's to rectify, im currently stripping a 2004 sport 182 for track use and thought maybe i could swap the pods around from both vehicles, illumunation isnt an issue for me as it would be tracked in the daylight hours, does anyone know if they are paired to the vehicles and what issues i may encounter, many thanks for any help anyone can give.
