CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news

Not a fan of the engine noise through speakers though.

The sound is physically piped through the engine bulkhead into the cabin, it's called a symposer. The diaphragm in the bulkhead is tunable (if you have the means to create a custom diaphragm and the knowledge to tune it). Many cars do this now, don't knock it until you've tried it. The Focus 1.6T (180PS) sounds pretty damn good.

Edit: Just realised you were referring to the silly app. I missed that part, it's a big press release!

Mine was ordered with pretty much everything and was sub-18k.

I think they were £17k new, plus options for the non-Cup. Not 100% though.

Yea thought was about that.

If never pay £22k (if that's what it is).

I know it's not really comparable but think of the nearly new cars you could get with £22,000.

If they can shift those for around 19k they'll sell shitloads.

No blue, why an increase of an inch on the wheels to 18" for the cup chassis? No cambelt is a good selling point though. I can't wait to test drive one.

I'm impressed with the equipment.

does this work like it does the the Ferrari? where it will shift down matching the revs to slow the car under heavy breaking such as going into low gear tight corner on a track? (thinking Hangar Hairpin or Bank Complex at Bedford)

Yes

I'm guessing it'll be a grey-ish colour?

Sounds like the car can drive itself. Nothing wrong with technology, but i am sure a drivers car should let you drive it, and not the other way rounds. Now all you have to do to get into a corner fast is hammer the brakes, and press the downshift and the car does it all for you. If you get out of shape the stability systems sort the car out. You cant mess up the gear shifts because the car does it for you. If you over brake, the car sorts it out.

I like the idea of hearing the engine in the cabin. My car has something similar, it's called less sound deadening.

In race mode everything is switched off. Driver only.

36kg's is fairly substantial tbh, also, turbo car's generally tend to make consistent power don't they?

So assuming it does have 180 WHP it's not going to be slow by any stretch.

The new Clio 200T is exactly the same weight as the outgoing 200 Cup – 1204Kg

they said mk4 clio, not specifically the RS ones.

so it might be the 1.2 lt thats 100kg lighter.

That's good then, so if they do a cup, it will be lighter than the cup at the moment.
