Clio 182 Wheels *how wide can you go

  Clio 182 Trophy
Buying a Clio 182 tomorrow for my dad hes 68. Shall be a riot non the less.

Anyways budget didn't stretch to trophy levels.. but he likes the wheels non the less!

Rota make coppies of the alloy wheel which is great can buy those and new tyres and still be in budget!

Now there are two options

16” x 7.0” 4x100 ET37 6.55kg
16 x 7.0'' 4x100 ET45 6.25kg

Now the standard alloys fitted are 16x7 ET45 with 195/45/16 tyres.

Can I fit 16x7 ET37 okay is the question anyone done this?

Ideally would like to fit Hankook V12 EVO 215/40/16 too should look and feel good hopefully :p

These babies.. can I get away with ET37 which is about 8mm extra poke or going to have serious rubbing issues?

standard tyres fitted to 182's are 205, 172 is 195. Why go for 215?

A few have the rotas fitted but some required spacers on the rear so that the calliper didn't foul the hub of the wheel, at the time they only made them in one offset to fit the clio, but can't remember if it was 37 or 45.

Just checked the thread in the trader section and they were 45 offset originally

  Dodgy one
37s fit fine, my cars lowered too about 50mm, i doubt your old man will be doing that mind, mine plays f*** as it is lol, i had to do a bit of tweaking and grinding but at standard height it wont cause any bother. As for the tyre fit 195/45s or for a bit more comfort 205/45s dont fit the 215s as theyre meant for a 7.5" rim and will be a bit shite

I run Advan AD08's on 15x6.5 Rim 205/50/15

215/40/17 will fit 7'' rim fine... hes not a track veteran. But an oldschool street fighter non the less :p

Im just worried about how much offset the 182's could take as I haven't gone for 'stance' on mine merely handling.

If 37ET fits fine thats great.. see some on here running 20mm spacers with standard wheels being equiv to ET25!!
