clio 182 cutting out

hi there.
i am looking at a clio 182 this weekend.
I have been thinking of getting one for a bit.
hopefully it will put a smile on my face after driving a 1.6 focus for last couple of years!
the clio starts and drives fine (so I have been told).
but I have been told that the clio is cutting out at 4000rpm after it has warmed up
then the car wont start for 20mins after no ecu lights on dash.
the car starts and drives fine from cold.
the clio is also not showing any fault codes
would I be goin in the write direction looking at the tdc sensor/loom (clean or replace).
or possible the common ecu loom wires on the little box on the back of the engine frayed etc.
as apart from the cutting out the rest of the car sounds good belts all done in the last 5k.
and a new clutch.
it need a mot but should pass with to much hassle and I can get it on the cheep.
any input on the cutting out issue by any one would be great

Depends on how much you are going to pay for it
No mot how long has it been sitting around for and what the condition of the car like body work And it's not worh buying if you have to spend a bucket load of cash spending on it

only been sitting for 2 weeks mot just run out.
the fella whos selling has got himself a diesel he has had it for a couple of years n spent a few quid
on it and got a lot of paper work for the clutch belts etc.
it only needs 2 tyres n the exhaust need sorting (minor gasses leak) for mot.
750 to take it away.
it just the problem with the cutting out!

it would be rude not to have a look at the motor if I can pick it up for silly money.
if me n pal think it a pile of oo: I wont take it and my search will continue.
it could be a silly fix or I could get me pants pulled down :wink:

Just found out a Bit more Info.
The clio cuts out Still Parked up n not in gear.
Any ideas any one?

Does it cut out when driving also.....

yes once it warms up n hits 4k rpm.
leave it for 20mins off u go again until it warms up same problem
drives normal when cold.

just to update.
went to have a look at the clio with a pal whos got a low loader.
when i get there the car wouldent start!
Rest ov the car looked in good nick had over 1300quid spent on It since july with ALL bills to prove.
Got the car for 500quid.
Got the car Home had a mooch at the tdc sensor It Was not pluged in propley sorted that n bumped the car n It fired up!!
Left It to warm up no cutting out at 4000rpm runs Sweet.
It sitting on toyo proxys tr1s(needs new Fronts)
Even the thumb grip is sweet!
Just needs a bulb 2tyres n the exhaust sorting (the seal kit Was in the Boot) for the mot what Will get done after xmas.

Im happy with It Was gona drop up to 2k on One after crimbo.
