Clio 1.2 Loosing everything...

Looking for a bit of advice...I'm confused :S

Girlfriend has a Mk2 Clio 1.2 16v.

Recently noticed it was loosing coolant AND oil, told her to keep an eye and top up for a week or so till I could have a good look.

The oil is loosing about 0.75 litres over 1000 miles she does every week.
It seems there's a fair bit gathering in inlet manifold/air filter. Believe this is due to no breather? Also been sugested that changing the PCV valve could help? There are no oil stains on the drive. This seems like a huge amount to loose into inlet manifold etc.

The coolant however is being lost quite quickly, (next to no water in the oil to suggest that headgaskets gone) and she says that the other day she put the car in work and there was a puddle of coolant on floor. I assumed that with the cold weather and hot coolant a pipe had split slightly.

However today she took it to a garage next to her place of work, they pressure tested the coolant system and say there are no leaks whatsoever.

So, any thoughts on either issue would be greatly appreciated.

This car cost her about £1100 and is just to get her to work (can't do so any other way) until she saves up for her precious Audi A1 haha so we're not looking to spend huge money, that's what she's currently doing though in oil and coolant.

Have mistakenly posted in 'Engine etc' section, should have gone in 'faults'. If it's a problem could someone please move. Thanks and sorry

Waterpump is brand new, wondering however of it was a faulty one.
Radiator looks in average nick but wouldn't it be apparent during pressure test of coolant systen

It is burning a bit of oil, previous owners seemed to neglect it so expect to loose some but seems to recently be loosing more. Going to clean breathers and replace pcv valve then, hopefully that'll at least slow it down. Then on the cooling side will check radiator and thermostat housing as the thermostat may have been shut during pressure test meaning the radiator and thermostat Etc wouldn't be done.

The headgasket can go and still not mix the coolant and oil. Can fail around a compression ring & water way. You have heard of "sniff testing"? Go to somebody with combustion leak detection equipment, & have the cooling system checked for Co2 content, this is an indication that either the headgasket is gone.... or something else like a cracked block etc.

If you had a pressure test done by a garage...... if like i said the gasket has failed between a compression ring & water way... u wont see it as its entering a cylinder, & not leaking externally.

Sounds like it does has issues along these lines if its drinking both liquids. But check the simple things first if u can m8.
