ok maybe just a bit of an exaggeration (SP) but i had the electrical fault warning light come on last nite and the revs died and i couldnt rev over 2200 revs, grrr, does anyone know what this could be??? am pretty gutted was meant to be going out tonight looks like that wont be happening

check the ecu box thingy. might be rubbing on the wire. all it needs is taping up.




The thing is situated at the back of the engine, in a metal black box which is apparantly hard to remove, but i found the top half of mine sitting down the back of my engine bay. May or may not be this. There are other things to check but i dunno wat they are.

could be the throttle body or the tps sensor, i had the same problem on my 1.2. 16v

Could be a million things with the D4F, you need to get the fault codes read really.

as said, i changed about 1000 sensors on mine! then got the ECU plugged in and it was the map sensor.

take it to a local garage and get the ecu red (sp)

Take in to a dealer who will charge you £50 to plug it into laptop.

or

Take it to a local specialist who will charge half that amount.

A £35 Ebay gadget wont pick up anywhere near as much as £3000 Renault CliP tool

Yeah, it's not that tool. It's the Renault 'Tool' using the Clip Machine.

There's your problem.

ok thanks guys well had to drive this the other day to work and it started absolutely fine then went again as i went up a hill, but the weird thing is on the way home it was absolutely fine and have been absolutely fine every since, we booked it into renault but they said they were going to charge 65 quid to get it looked at so know that it aint doing anything bad we aint going to take it in just see how it goes

i have got the same problem, only now my car is popping, think it could be a missfire or a hole in the exhaust. what do you people think? oh btw is it the coilpack light that comes on? because when mine does that i belive that light comes on. Also i cant pull off when this happens, it revs to 2k but no matter how slow you pull off the clutch it just stalls. then you start it back up and its fine for a week or so. Stupid car!

yer well all 1.2 or most 1.2's pop anyway so chances are you never noticed it before this problem your one seems to be worse than mine, mine never stalled, and it has been fine now for 4 days so

yer well all was well untill the other day it did it again but it got worse, now the engine coolant light came on and stayed on even when the electrical fault light went out, then all of a sudden it went out, but it feels down on power, we have checked the engine coolant and all is well there, looks like when i get paid am going to have to take it into renault to get it looked at because it is starting to really get on my nerves!!

erm i really dont know if there are any renault specialist to be honest, i live in dorset if you know of any near there? is rentect in portsmouth? see i dont even know how far away that is lol
