Car getting dephaser done

Where are you getting your oil pressure reading from?

Dephasor shouldnt really effect that much as it doesnt flow a lot.


What are the specific values you are getting for oil pressure with and without it at various RPM?

Not sure on the specific values but he said he measured it before the oil switch and it dropped to 2.5bar as soon as the noise started

Cant comment without also knowing:

2.5 bar at what rpm?
hot or cold oil?
what thickness of oil?
what was the pressure before the switchon at same rpm?

When parked up the noise came at about 3k when revved up normally, and the only place it was measured from was before the switch

It only makes the noise when warmed up, the oil is elf evolution 5w40

If you have 2.5 bar of oil pressure at 3k rpm, thats less than it should be.

Should be 4bar by that rpm IME.

No more knocky dephaser noise


you boys were right, turns out it WAS the timing!

Belt skipped probably due to a knackered tensioner etc

Not sure why he didn't notice this before but f**kit I've got my car back that's all I care about

On a different note, I got my ktec recessed cat back come through a little while ago, I've checked the box and there's no template or instructions for the cut out in the bumper, has anyone got the measurements?
