Buying my first clio!

I've been looking on this forum for a few months whilst saving enough to buy a decent MK3 (part time supermarket wage).
I've finally payed my 1st years insurance off which was costing me £249 a month so now i'm in an actual position to buy a clio.
Im looking for a dynamique s however I would prefer an SX but i'm definitely going for a TCE, I've got a couple of quick questions before I buy one

What are the things I should look out for when I go to buy one?
also can I for mk3 ph2 rear lights straight on to a ph1 model.

I've not got much experience with mk3's but one bit of advice I can give is; HPI check the car before buying it.

Make sure it's had it's cambelt done if it's over 5 years old.
