Brake pads and pedal feel

Went on the RUK Bedford trackday on Friday.

I have braided hoses all round, standard rear discs and pads and Brembo Max discs, pagid blue pads up front.

Pedal feel and braking power was not great the whole evening, lots of travel and not the braking power i expected - nothing like as good as the r26.r on a standard setup. Is there anything that can be done to improve the setup? Be tempted to go for 4-pots otherwise.

Also, after a few hot laps I would do a cool down lap then back into the pits for 15 mins or so. When I went back on track the brakes felt really soft and needed a few corners of braking to get any real friction and feel again. Will this just have been heat soak whilst sat?

Got a funny whirring sound from the near side front now too so need to have a look at what going on there.

you've got fluid issues/fiting issues there by the sound of it, initial bite of the blues isn't anywhere near as "headbutt the windscreen" as the PF97's, but they are IMO the 2nd best performing pad out there

Its better to have same type of pads all round

Be interested to have someone who is used to using these pads have a look over them. Are you still doing clio work/interested in having a look over the setup??

Had them fitted by a good specialist and checked over by a mate who is a renault mechanic and neither saw any problems with the fitting. Not had the fluid changed since last August when the setup was fitted but not been used in anger before bedford.
