Bit Gutted

fad

  Clio 182 FF
Had my car on the rollers at Torque of the Devil today, very proffessional outfit. Car was run on a Dyo Dynamics rolling road.

After three runs my car (clio 182) made 171.4bhp 147ft/lb torque.

I'm pretty gutted as I was expecting around 178-179 even filled up with Ultimate!

Has anyone else had such experiences of underpowered car? The operator (Chris Todd) mentioned it felt fine just seemed to lack the bhp figure. I will try and get a graph up at some point but overall its just a bit disapointing. It was mentioned it could be something as stupid as a dirty filter or just in need of a service.

Car feels fine on the road though.

i think thats average for the sports mate we had a rolling road day last week i made 158bhp a few made 160ish for the 172 and the 182 made between 174-177

You need to run on 3 different ones and take an average.

Still too many contributing factors and any result should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Hello Fad - fancy seeing you here haha.

I also was quite surprised to see your car and my car run under power.

I nearly booked mine in on Friday but as the guy on the phone told me that they all kick out around 170 max, i felt there was no need to spend 60 big ones!

I wouldn't be too disapointed with that, DynoDynamics rollers give accurate figures, not inflated to make you feel good about the car like some do. Notice how many people come away from a DD rollers with less than they thought?

I always regard RR figures in old and new money, you'll always struggle to make what people were a 3-5 years ago because understanding of how dynos work has improved so the operators can't get away with so much and strive to give accuracy rather than big figures
