Backup when moving network

I currently have an iPhone 5 unlocked from apple and have been using a 3 sim only for the last 12 months however the signal is getting worse so I am moving to giffgaff. I will be keeping my number with my pac but just wondering if I can keep my message history as I don't know if its linked with the phone or the sim?

I am guessing it is backed up through the cloud so when the new sim gets put in should it all still be there with all the contacts etc?

Just put the new SIM in. Thats all you need to do.

Nothing is on the SIM these days, if there is YOU put it there.
