I'd spend whatever amount on an Intel C2D instead..

PS - Think of stepping codes as batch numbers (over simplistic analogy)..

Aren't Intels a bit more cash though? I'm out of the loop of computers and have been for a while, a few years ago AMD gave you better speeds for less dollar. Don't know much about it now, thou my bro has a quad core intel I think and its mega mega fast.

It's literally swing right around.

As you said AMD's were the cpu of choice for a few years, certainly for gamers anyway, but now the Intel C2D's (Dual and Quad) now lead the way for the time being atleast.

Price wise they're a bit more but the E2140's and E2160's are around the £50/£60 mark and my E2160 is running at 3.2ghz on air.
