alarm question

Sometimes when I press my key fob my car beeps and sometimes it doesn't. Also, when it does beep it either does so three or four times.

Does anyone know what these different responses mean? I've checked stuff like doors or windows being open and the handbrake off etc. It's on a 2004 182 clio by the way. Cheers.

common fault with the 182 alarms,no need to worry it doesnt cause any problems with the alarm when it is set.I kept on to my renault dealer at the time who didnt have a clue what i meant,but then i changed dealers to kings renault of taunton,they have been great for advice and info and they knew the fix for this,its all done under warranty,have a word with your dealer,failing that give kings a ring and get the relevant info from them that you may need.

Another common problem is when you lock the car the alarm beeps 2 or 3 times.
Reason: The alarm system has received a signal from the vehicle ECU that the ignition is 'on' causing the alarm to beep. This signal is only received by the alarm for 3 to 4 seconds, after this time has elapsed the alarm stops beeping.

Solution: It can only be resolved at a Renault dealer. Ask the dealer to contact the 'Renault alarm help line' and quote reference
'RS+15'.
