Air Con Won't Switch Off!

Right had the problem ever since i owned the car, the unit itself works fine i can adjust the temp and speed fine but when i press off the unit powers down but air still blasts up onto the windscreen?? For the time being i have taken the fuse out to stop that happeneing. I have reset the ECU with no luck, i have also unpluged the back off the unit with again no luck. ANYBODY have any ideas??? I have been told it is not a resistor but someone must know????

UCH or something like that I believe, may also be known as the resistor pack. Have a search
