2nd car and mirroring NCB

I'm looking at buying another 172 Cup in the new year to run as a 2nd car and use on track. As my Focus currently has my NCB attached to it with my current insurers I'd need a company who'd be willing mirror NCB. I've spoken to my current insurers who'd be willing to insure it and mirror NCB but they're not "Cup" friendly so the premium is pretty expensive. I've also spoken to Greenlight who've said they couldn't mirror NCB from another company as I had a claim back in April 2011.

Who do people use and which companies will mirror NCB even if the two polices are with 2 separate companies?

I think they mirror the ncb to get a cheaper rate depending on the company and more importantly the two cars in question. Having 5 yr ncb on a clio wouldnt be the same on say 911 turbo.

Messaged Neil as the offices are shut, see if they can beat my 0 NCB quote from confused.com! Hope so as it was the same price as insuring my 330ci and the other halfs 182 for us both to drive lol :)

Adrian flux do this but they want £400 for my St fiesta i am getting. But when I quote it as my only car I can get insured for £160 just over

I'm with Sky Insurance, currently have a modified Fabia vRS with as my main policy with NCD against and had an Octavia Mk1 vRS heavily modified (stage 2) with mirrored NCD and my 172 modified with mirrored NCD.

They are the best insurance company I've been with for a while.

They won't do it for me. 😧

As explained you have to be free from fault/non recoverable claims to qualify for a mirrored NCB within the last 4yrs.
You can normally only use your NCB on one policy at a time so mirrored NCB is something that can be done, but only if the driver is claim free for the required period. (non fault claims and windscreen claims dont count)

We are limited to choice of underwriters as your postcode is exluded by a majority fo our panel :( (one of our other underwriters will only need a 3yr claim free gap to offer a mirror but they wont do the postcode).

As always i will do anything i can to get Cliosport members a price/deal if i can but in this case it doesnt meet any of our available schemes.

Cheers
Neil

I'm a year outside that criteria unfortunately :( and yeah M postcodes cause a lot issues with insurers, isn't just you, all the specialist are similar as I presume you all use similar companies?

Wasn't a complaint on your behalf btw Neil.
