1994 172'd Mk1 Valver Track Car

Right front??? This has all happened since Oulton? Only thing it can be is kerb abuse. Sure they bolts were torqued up 100%?

In terms of the welding heat, you should be ok but its pretty risky, lol.

I might have tickled a few curbs at Oulton, nothing too drastic though really.

Hopefully the new FK Rigsport setup should sort it.

Aye, run it and see!

Only left hander is Cascades really, going upto Shell isn't hard on the RF as you dont go anywhere near the kerb.

Christopher, we need updates. I've seen your facebook so I know there are some!

There've been plenty, I lack the motivation to bother with this thread though just now. Infact, where did you find it, page 20 or so?!

Hopefully the new FK Rigsport setup should sort it.

Going back to this... The modified front struts held up perfectly at Rockingham the other week and show no more signs of wear. This is with running slicks too, so plenty of stress on them. I added 3mm to each mounting face of the shock so increased the overall thickness by 6mm. More importantly there's now plenty of material on the outside of each hole, so fingers crossed I wont see them oval/distort anymore.

Some might have seen the car at FCS, it was on the Williams Clio stand in its multi-coloured glory.

The day after (Monday) we had a trackday at Rockingham so stayed the night after FCS. Rained up until about 10/11am which meant I was rediculously slow as the car was a bag of shite! Track soon dried towards lunch time and it was infinitely better. Still on the road tyres at this point but it was brilliant. Made a few repairs after lunch, then went out on the slicks for the rest of the afternoon. They're amazing!

Now the car's in bits again and I need to crack on and put it back together for Cadwell trackday on Wednesday.

I was planning on painting the whole car again before my next track day, but with Cadwell Park rapidly approaching on Wednesday this week I pretty much ran out of time. So I got as far as priming the outside, then put it back together!

Then when I get round to it, it'll be going Mondial Blue, making it a Mk1 172 Cup

From thread in Media section.

Nah ANPR wont pick it up unless the car is flagged up as having no Tax or Mot etc other wise it wont be bought to the cops attention as ANPR only checks the vitals. I drove around in my Mk1 in primer for a month or so until I sprayed it orange

A few from Cadwell seeing as my thread's kindly been bumped!

Great day once again with the usual suspects present. Car behaved faultlessly, and I had the slicks on all day. Grip levels were rediculously quite frankly!

Then I went for an MOT this morning, and came back with a green one

Also finally got round to wiring in my 172 clocks. Much better and I have a working speedo again after 3 months without!

Had another windscreen fitted tonight; this is the 4th in 21 months of owning the car. Previous one was cracked on the drivers side, but it hadn't spread from a chip like they usually do. Because of this, my fitter agreed to replace it FOC and send it back to his supplier. Means I lost a few stickers and my t*at strip, but not to worry.

I'd have thought when they spread from a chip, the stifness of the car has something to do with it, but on this occasion I don't really know. Fitter was happy the screen was at fault so that'll do me.

i thought they cracked cos the shell flex's around the cage, espically with the heavy track use
