182 N/S Driveshaft....

Hi Guys,

Ive recently got another 182, had an issue with an ABS type sensation at low speed. Had it up on the ramp at my local garage and apparently the ABS ring is split. So I need a new Driveshaft. The guy in the garage reckons £220 + vat to fit an exchange item. About £130 + vat for the part apparently from Renault. Is this a decent price?

Not to bad of a price tbh. But can be done cheaper.

You can just buy the abs ring.

And the driveshaft would have to come off to fit it, wouldn't it?

If passenger side, I'd personally remove hub and do it with gearbox end still in, to save hassle.

Drivers side I'd remove it entirly and do it on the bench.

Yeah it would. Not a difficult job though.

Slacked the drive shaft nut.

Drain gearbox oil

Remove shock, lower ball joint, caliper from hub (tie up somewhere)

3 bolts which hold flange to gearbox.

Wack off the hub not forgetting to disconnect the abs sensor.

Swap over abs rings and reassemble. 2 hours max I would have thought although I'm sure it could be done quicker.
