Hi Alistair!

Was Martin in a purple Exige? If that was him then he was doing pretty well! It was a super venue, we'll deffo be back there if they don't clash with any championship rounds this year. We're going to be doing the Heart of England championship, so not really North enough for you!

I may stray up to the Pendragon again so get yourself out up there!

The furthest North I get will probably be Caerwent at the end of the year. I'd love to do Croft but its just too far really for a SV!
Yes well we will at the Pendragan, would be great to get loads of clio's on one event. May of had a look down t Swynerton the other one was the Richard burns rally, but same as you see how champs going :D
Ps yes mintin was think he had one bad stage that dropped him a min.

What do they do to the trophy beams then? I'll show you what we've done when I get it back from the powder-coaters.

The bottom joints are the Race Car "uniball" bearings, in the special billet housings. I've got a few sets left if you want to try them, you will need a bearing holder, bearing, circlip, pin and the two bolts I think. You may need the Race Car bottom arms which are expensive and I've not got any of those left to sell. They're well different to the Clio std. arms though.

I had to shorten the pin by 16mm I think so that all the geometry came back when we raised the ride-height. Lots of technical hours spent trying to work out how to get around the problem of the pins being too long, and the bump steer having issues - easiest option was simply to shorten them!

I'll get some photos up when the car's out the garage again (hopefully this weekend when I refit the beam!)

Scott.

Don't forget some more info on the rear beam + pictures.

airbox looks interesting, can i ask where you are taking the feed from?

lovely car though, would be good to see it at a round just a bit far north for me.

Feed is from a cold-air box behind the LH headlight. Cold air is piped into the box from an intake in the lower grille.

Brakes were built as a one-off. 300mm discs, AP Pro5000+ 4-pot calipers, bespoke bells and mounting brackets as I have seriously up-rated bottom rose-joints on the wishbones and the rose-joint housings stick out a long way.

They had to space the discs out by 3-4mm to make room for the joint housings. Makes the car wider anywho....

Look forward to seeing you out soon in the Pink machine.

In a bid to get our first class win and beat these 2**bhp sequential box Mk2 Escorts (2nd in class is first of the losers and is happening a few too many times) we have purchased a new engine for the Rally car. Its a APD built ITB engine approx 240bhp. Plus the new brakes will come in handy too..!!!

Hopefully should be up and running end of next week then off to the rollers.

Not enough entry's I think was the reason, they really struggled to get 22 ish if I remember correctly

Hi Guys,

Sorry I've not been active on here for a few weeks - been out seeing to the car. Yeah unfortunately the event was cancelled due to lack of entries. Really annoyed but there's nothing we could have done - there was just simply not enough people to make the event financially feasible to run.

Unfortunately its a sign of things to come for club rallying as people start to save their pennies, anyway, I've booked a test session at Blyton airfield near Gainsborough this Sunday (7th) so if anyone lives near there and they want to come and have a look at the car then send me a PM!

Cheers,

Competing on Sunday the 21st (this Sunday) at Weston Park near Telford, we are running car 36 - if you're near by come and say hi! First car is due at 0815 - please be very careful if you come as NO PARKING near the main entrance will be allowed, there is a speccy car park near the Park.
