Hi all, Hope some1 can throw some light on this for me, my 2001 clio 172's throttle is sticking at about 2000 revs, when i accelerate or rev the car it stays at this rev count unless i rev it quickly and release then it drops back down to normal, any 1 got any idea what the problem is here...

im in the middle of replacing my conrods at the mo mte me and my mate could have had the whole engine stripped down new rods in pistons etc back in engine togother and working in less than two days, if we had all the parts there and then,, so i should think if there worth there weight then it...

is any one on here sure whether i can replace 2 of the 4 conrods in my 2001 172 i wouldnt have to replace the two that arent bent would i??

hi again all, i got a phone cal from my mechanic this morning after dropping my car off for him to time it up so the cam bely can be removed so i can take the head off etc to replace the bent conrod, but he informs me that he cant time the cams properly due to the engine being siezed, the caqr...

they did use the renault tools a mechanic at the garage i use is an ex renault mechaninc! um as far as i no you can change just one conrod with out having to change the others but im not 100%

Hi another random question for you mechanics out thetre lol! if a car (clio 172 2001) was driven through a puddle sucked all the water up through the pipercross air filter sucked into engine, driver keeps going but car starts to judder so turns car off what are the possibilities of the piston...

i had a brandspanking astra vxr nurburgring which would do it every now and again like everyone has says just drive around for a while maybe throw it round some corners lmao it will soon be back to normal!?!?

i just paid a garage £245 for cam belt change and timing setup and all that although i did have the engine pretty much out of the car lmao but there are certainly garages out there which are fair reliable and good in price its just finding them but you will know when you find one near you!

there was a thread on this somewhere, a member on here used two old sockets out of a socket set and wedged them in the bottom corners cable tied it and hey presto perfect!

a vehicle from a garage would have to be in a road worthy condition as they have insurance and all that to work along side, how ever you should always check your vehicle over thouroghly befor you leave the forecourt!!

can be points and a hefty fine for every tyre which isnt in a road worthy condition, traffic cops the worse they would rip any one apart with worn tyres mate
