    Acer Aspire 5920 power problem

You might need a new power board. Mine went on my Aspire 5050, but I got a new one for about £30 on ebay. They usually connect to the motherboard using some sort of plug or connector, so it should be fairly easy.

    1.2 mpg!

I used to get 42 - 44 mpg in my 1.2 until I moved house. Now my journey to uni involves more 'third gear' driving, with more roundabouts and stop start driving etc. It rarely makes 38 mpg now, even after a service.

highest mileage seen on a clio?

Christ, that's almost the distance to the Moon. Maybe Renault should buy it back and use it for research.

Tomtom go 510 and Nokia E71

This is a long shot, but does anyone have both of the above and if so, are they compatible via bluetooth? I've checked on the tomtom website and the E71 isn't listed as being compatible, but this just means they haven't tested it.

    MOT problem with my plates!

My plates don't have the British standard reference number and they were supplied by the Renault dealer when the car was brand new in 2003. Everything else is legit.

    All my seats out. OMFG!

I've been thinking about this thread a lot over the last few days, so much in fact that today I decided to remove the rear seats and spare wheel from my 1.2 Billabong. For the sake of argument I also weighed each item, using the method of holding them whilst standing on the bathroom scales...

    Argh! The rattles have begun

I had exactly the same problem. The interior door trim is held in place by cheap plastic poppers, which either break or don't fit properly. I ended up bunging a load of blu-tac inside my door trim. Sometimes my car rattles and squeaks more when it's really hot or cold, especially the sun roof.

Sometimes the clip on the CV boot will break off and sit over the ABS ring, interfering with the sensor.

    Aux belt question

Yeah, mine has two belts. According to my Haynes manual, the aircon belt does have a tensioner though. Sod it, I'll ask them to fit new aux belts as well. I find it difficult fitting a belt in my jeans, let alone putting one on a car!

    Aux belt question

How important is an aux belt change on a 1.2 16v engine. If it snaps, will it be a minor inconvenience (no alternator & air con) or will it bite me on the arse and then rape it? The reason I ask is that I have booked my car in for it's 5 year cam belt change today; the whole lot including a...

Some CU*T has keyed my car!

The problem is kids don't seem to fear their own parents any more , never mind the authorities. When I was a kid (only 8 years ago), I know for a fact that if got caught doing anything like this, my Dad would have booted me so hard up the arse I would've been tasting shoe polish. Not only...

    Another Cam belt quote thread

I've just had a quote from Bucks Renault (An independent specialist) for a cam belt change on my 1.2 16v with aircon. The quote was for £270 using genuine Renault parts, but the bloke said it will be £130 extra if I wanted the water pump changed, so £400 all in. The main stealers quoted me...

    TOMTOM RDS-TMC TRAFFIC RECEIVER

I bought one a couple of years ago. My tomtom recognised it, but didn't lock on to a signal, so I didn't use it for about a year. I then tried it again and DID get a signal, for about a week, then my satnav stopped recognising it. Further research on t'internet told me that this is entirely...

    1.4 Billabong...

I've got a 1.2 the same colour as this, completely unmodified apart from RS grill and silvervisions. I've thought about colour coding mine but from what I've seen from photoshops and other people's, it can look a bit meh. IMO The black strips almost complement the colour and provide a nice...

My 56 Plate 1.2 Campus Sport DIED.

Basically they are the leads that plug into the spark plugs. They are an integral part on coil packs for a 1.2 engine anyway, so your new coil pack has new leads.

    1.2 16v ticky?

Mine's always sound a bit ticky when it's idling. It kind of reminds me of the sound from my Dad's old Talbot Alpine - that was French too!
