Looks like your having fun with the 86.
My wife fitted Litchfield suspension kit and 18" wheels 225 width front and 255 width rear. Got some proper grip now but still playful.
Looking for a buyer as she feels it time to move on
Finally got things together to get my first run out in the stockcar. Nearly a year after selling the GTR and deciding to go racing.
Put two new tyres on which meant I had to start from the back in each heat and the final. Not a bad rule, meant I could try and follow the top guys and learn...
Dont get me wrong mate it can be very involving, especially when you have the boost turned up full and no aids on, thats how I usually ran it on track. But it was such a big car you couldnt really chuck it around. It was involving but not the involving I now want from a car
yep bored. Dont get me wrong it get a huge amount attention and for sheer speed its just silly. Bit its a big car and for knockhill its not that great. Big tracks like Silverstone would be a different story.
Could of done, but we have the GT86 for a bit of fun and needed a car for towing the...
depends on the car mate. Ive bought that off one of my best mates, he's run it for 3 years and has bought a new one. So I got a bit of a deal. £4K and thats the car, spare wheels and spares parts.
A full race wknd in it will cost less than doing a trackday in the GTR or EVO haha
Sooo. A few month on and the new towing vehicle is bought.
14 plate VW amarok with 5k miles
And the Superstox is getting picked up next week, roll,on next season
nop not got the funds to run that.
its a 2l zetec well it will be next season
Just using the Mrs GT86, things only done 8K miles in 2 years so needs some use.
Will need to get somit for pulling a trailer
Hahaha I see I've caused a bit of a stir.
One of the man things is I found I was chasing lap times. And I was then looking at upgrading the suspension and changing to R888s. Seats and harnesses next. I would have had 10K spend in no time. And then you have to think about cooling, 7/8 laps...
Well after a good bit of thought I've decided its time to sell and move onto somit else.
Had ad an amazing time with then GTR but with my recent outing on track I've felt it's missing somit. So time to sell
Alot better with the mods, both my wife and I agree.
Ok they were developed to have fun with, but the standard tyres are scary in the wet. No grip in any way.
Cars awesome now, shes actually talking about getting more power
The Mrs has done some further mods this year.
Fitted some Crawford performace Billet Power Blocks which once the car has a had a remap should be a good 10hp jump in power. Crawford are claiming close to 19hp gain!
Also fitted has been a new rear spoiler, a shark fin aerial and a roof spoiler.
Been at it all week and getting where. Both dealer and supplier blaming each other. I'm back offshore this week so can't do anything about it for a month
Thought I'd give this a wee update.
cars been on two trackdays this year and has been great. But not without issues, ran out of brakes on the first one. So changed the brake fluid and upgraded it to Castrol SRF. Amazing difference, brake pedal it 100% more positive and less sqidgy.
So happy...
