    Making a Custom Exhaust

So if the down pipe is 2.5" how is a 2.5" system excessive? Surely all it will do is aid in flow....... As long as the back pressure is ok.............

    Making a Custom Exhaust

Anyone know what size the manifold down pipe is into the exhaust?

    Making a Custom Exhaust

You're right dude. Gonna use a specially made mandrel and fly press to expand the pipe to make perfectly formed slip joints. Should be far more accurate than a normal pipe expander.

    Making a Custom Exhaust

TIG yes, and thinking of sleeving the tubes, welding lugs on and then using exhaust springs to pull them together. Thats how my uncle did it on his system. Seals really well and less weight etc........... I'll grab some pics over the weekend, easier than trying to explain it:yum:

    Making a Custom Exhaust

Oreca's system and the KTR ones use 2.5" tubing, was thinking along the lines of something like this Only difference will be that the backbox will be riveted so they can be drilled out and it re-packed

Hi All, Cant decide on an after market exhaust for the car, so..................... I'm going to make one (with help from an uncle who made a custom titanium one for his kitcar - including manifold!), it will be de-catted, with just a re-packable backbox to suit track noise limits. For a few of the lads yeah. It was a case of they weren't going to go any quicker than in the morning so it wasn't worth the risk in the wet. Where are you based Jonny?

Best tyres from List 1A MSA Bluebook 2015

Longton & District I think. My uncle races with them. They run at 3 Sister(10 mins away) and Aintree(30 mins away). You didn't happen to be at 3 Sisters today did you? There was an identical cup to yours there! with a set of wheels in the back!

    Engine mounts........pic heavy

So, I'm new to the Clio scene - only bought the car on 25th May. I had the issue of the knocking on acceleration from the manifold, so thought I'd change all the mounts after a quick look see revealed that the lower gearbox mount was perishing. Well, it seems its a good job I chose to do ALL of...
