Sorry for the extreme thread revival but is there a definitive answer on this thread? I have the exact same symptoms; do i need a new throttle body? Cheers

    Airbag/squib question - Ph1

Hi all I'ev managed to damage the wiring for my steering wheel airbag :-( I can see two types of squib on ebay, and most of them are different to mine, as pictured. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable? Thanks

    Restoring a steering wheel question

Hi all I have searched on the forums but can't see that anyone has asked this question. I have a Ph1 172 leather steering wheel where the leather is kinda spoiled; not massively, but it could do with improving! I don't have the budget for having it retrimmed by snappy etc, so i was wondering if...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Soo... with all the rain recently my footwell leak has come back! I checked the scuttle drains and they are definitely clear! I have seen a few threads talking about 'resealing the heating duct' (within the scuttle panel), but haven't really got a clue what this is, or where it is. Does anyone...

    Bore of aftermarket OZ F1's

Hi all I wonder if the information i need is available on Cliosport... I have some aftermarket Oz F1 15's, but i am struggling to find what spigot rings i need for them (with regard to the bore on the wheel). I have read on this site varying sizes: 73.1, 68.1, 67.1; I know they are not 73.1, but...

Doesn't the bobble get in the way Sburrel?! Well i had a quick look in sainsburys last night but no joy. I'll try tesco and then might have to buy one as suggested!

    Phase 1 in the winter!

Yeah the sock is not the best solution; although i did think a child's sock might fit better.. could just wear gloves i suppose

    Phase 1 in the winter!

A serious question to all you phase 1 owners out there: How do you keep your knob warm over winter? Mine gets so cold, I don't want to touch it! I have tried putting a sock on it, but it keeps falling off. I think i have seen a picture of someone with a tiny wooly hat for theirs, but i'm...

Phase 1 172 front shock absorbers

Right, yeah they'd got the wrong ones! Can anyone recommend the best place to buy a pair from? I looked on Renault Parts Direct but no idea if they're the best price. Also is it worth getting a new top mount kit at the same time, or does it vary too much from car to car?

Phase 1 172 front shock absorbers

Hi all, I can't find the answer to this in the forums, so resorting to asking! I've just phoned my local garage to book new front shocks for my Ph1 172, but the guy on the phone didn't sound 100% happy that he'd found the right ones! My question is are these shock absorbers the same as those on...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Woah... loads of replies in the thread without me getting an email notification! I tried a few fixes two and a half weeks ago and (fingers crossed) think i might have fixed it. What i believe was causing was that the rubber strip along the bottom of the windscreen (which sits tight against the...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Hi Karlos I started cutting mine with a stanley knife, but gave up and just ripped it bit by bit with my hands-like you say, it makes getting it out much quicker when its wet, and there's no noticeable difference when its back in the car

    Water ingress (footwell)

Wouldn't the cars be the same for the purpose of finding leaks?? I have also taken out my foam to dry, but until the problem is solved, it won't be going back in!

    Water ingress (footwell)

Alex-thank you I will check this if the car is in the air at the weekend ;-) Obcuz-i think you could be right-i plan to give it a good investigate again-i have checked it before but not thoroughly enough i reckon!

    Water ingress (footwell)

I'm going to have a good look at this at the weekend, along with everything else, but there's something i've read a few times which is really confusing me-although it will sound like a dumb question! Where is the air-con drain pipe? Can anyone confirm that this is definitely not the same pipe...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Hi, this is really encouraging to hear! Did you have to remove any carpets or trim before you spotted this, or could you see it anyway?

    Water ingress (footwell)

Bit of an update here... i've checked the rear over Christmas and that's not where the water is coming from. I also got help from someone standing over the car with a hose while i sat inside, but couldn't see any water coming in unfortunately! I've been doing more reading up and have found a few...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Do you mean lift the rear carpets to check? I'll do that thanks It's kinda hard to say how bad it is... before i dried out the sponge, if you pressed down with your toe then you could see water. Now it feels wet but only if you press down if that makes sense? And this is two (very wet) weeks...

    Water ingress (footwell)

It's normally sat level-I read up on the water coming in the back and running down but im sure it's not that ;-) I couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from when i had the carpet up-problem is i can only pull up that corner without removing the seats, so i can only do it at the weekend...

    Water ingress (footwell)

Hi all I have water somehow getting into my driver's footwell on my Ph1 172. I have been researching and have so far tried the below without success: - Check scuttle drains - Clean out the area behind the inner wheel arch - Make sure the sill drains are clear Since doing the above i have dried...

    Exhaust emission warning light

Hi all For better or worse I have just replaced my Scorpion exhaust on my 172 with a Klarius pattern exhaust (couldn't stand the noise or look of the scorpion). The car is driving fine, but on the way home the emissions warning light came on. I am hoping to get a code reader on it on Wednesday...

    Standard stereo question

Hi I know that there are standard stereos which share their display with the clock and thermometer, and also stereos which have the display on the unit. My question is: for my phase 1 which has a display like the attached pic, do I definitely have a cable somewhere to link up the display and the...

    172 Ph1 Speedo Reading Low!

Hang on... where about's is the top stop? To simply re-align the needle can I not push it all the way round past the top stop (as you describe), and then adjust it back down using the lower stop... meaning I wouldn't have to actually pull the needle off?
