Battery powered impact driver

Hi all,

Just after a recommendation of the subject header really. Would only have occasional use just to assist with general car maintenance - nuts, bolts removal, etc.

Not airline/compressor powered.

Very much depends on what power tools you already have as you could save a fair bit buying a bare unit to use the same batteries.

Other than the usual hammer drill and a sander.

I actually read the title wrong and assumed he meant Impact Wrench.

Same rules apply though, pick a brand and you can swap the batteries around when required.

Milwaukee are ok, my m12 one broke after 2 years and I'd already replaced a spring in the bit holder about a year before that.
I've got some 18v bosch ones that must be 10 years old that are still working.
That didn't stop me buying a new m12 one though they're just so light and handy.

I went for the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2" gun, I snapped a 1/2" drive long bar on my XC90 crank pulley but the gun pulled it off without much of a problem. Unbelievable torque. Only issue I had with it is accidentally leaving it on max ugga dugga when doing up an M12 suspension bolt and it snapped it lol

Id buy red next time round but for the average diyer occasional use prob not worth the extra spend over the dewalt
