I've just replace my O/S drive shaft as I had a rotational clunking/grumble/road surface feeling like you mentioned before the the CV joint failed. I had a ticking/clicking noise on full lock too and the grumble progressively got worse till the joint failed completely. Sounded similar to a loose...
I had a replacement windscreen fitted to my old Cup by RAC windscreens as it was about to fail its next MOT due to a large chip in zone A.
Couple of weeks go by and I notice, same as you have, a whistle/howl of air when travelling at 65-70mph. Took it back to the RAC and they re-sealed the...
+1 on the valve in the pump sticking one way or the other. Pretty sure you can strip it down and free everything up. Either that, or new pumps are reasonably cheap too.....
Possibly not related but might help.....
My A4 (B6 1.9TDi) has a chattering noise when the AC pump is off, but occasionally when on, and the reason for it is there are six two prong rubber 'bumpers' within the front pulley/clutch wheel. works a little like a dual mass flywheel with rubbers...
Hi Ricethief!
In my opinion this is one of the best and most active forums I've ever been on, compared to other car related ones. So I'm sure if you have any questions along the way, that haven't already been covered in the technical section (search function is definitely the first point of...
Spotted a Black 1*2 leaving Tesco (Northampton South) filling station (inner roundabout) at about 19:30 last night. Driver spotted me I think.
I was in the (dirty) Monaco blue 172 coming into Tesco past the bus stops.
Anyone on here?
Pedal sensor: not sure why it would cause the ABS warning light as mentioned by as its only a push-to-break switch and if it fails your lights sit in the safe/on position.
ABS ring: turn your front wheel to full lock in each direction (or pop the car on axle stands to see underneath) and look...
+1 on the Rainsports, got them on all 4 corners of mine, very very stable/grippy in the wet (as you'd hope) and excellent in the dry! I had PS3's on my Audi and they were fantastic, but not cheap!
I took off my wiper arms to remove scuttle and swap out the washer bottle, since putting it back...
I owned my first RS Clio (172 Cup HT53 HRM) in 2008, and reluctantly sold it in 2012 as we were planning to start a family and bought a Mk4 Golf GT TDi PD130 . Spent the next 4/5 years grieving from my french loss, but enjoyed the German build quality, upgraded the Golf to an Audi A4 (B6) 1.9...
My leak comes out behind the passenger door inside the car, from underneath the rear passenger's interior trim (under the seat pad below where the rear cup holder thing/rear speaker is). I removed the seat pad and ran the pump for the rear screen and it came sloshing out and down into the rear...
Just as an extra thought: mine has been emptying the washer bottle into the rear passenger foot-well and wicking through the carpet toward the front of the car. I thought it was a door seal leaking and that the headlight washers were draining the washer bottle separately, but the emptying...
My Monaco is on 111,600 miles at the moment (only done about 700 miles since I bought it in October last year).
My daily Audi A4 on the other hand is a sniff off of 230,000 and, touch wood, still going strong! Good 'ol 1.9 tdi's.......
I have found that an alloy that hasn't had the wheel bolts fully tightened/torqued and only finger tight (so small amount of play and loosen themselves) makes the same noises as a dying wheel bearing with the change in noise when changing direction etc......
Lets just say I wont be using that...
