had this problem to, never found the answer on here as it could be many things, but i knew one of my Lower Ball joints was worn as i got a knocking over bumps and it couldnt of been the suspension as this was all new, so i replaced both and since then the problem has gone, my car has done about...
I have 195/45/16 on my clio 172 and find they last me near on a year, when i have them changed in winter they still carry an amazing amout of tread.. this said untill i had the tracking and camber checked at a good place my car ate tyres...
LOL this is true although since changing mine to the meggy ones they are good as gold, and also next year become an MOT failure if not on the car and working..
i feel your pain, i had only put my tyres on about a month before the cambelt being done and had to fork out for a new set.. but thank god had it all checked at the same time and jobs a good'un no probs since
i had mine in for a cambelt change a few months back and the mechanic told me that my tyres had worn through on the insides, worse on one-side than the other, when i took it to my mate at STS tyre pros the camber somehow was well out.

Fitted mine this morning, as was taking off my bumper to fit meggy headlight washers. Both look sweet and was easy to fit, went OT on the self tappers but didn't want to give it a chance to go anywhere..
Hi i dont know about if the screen has to be removed, i kinda think you wouldnt have to looking at the kit, but cant say for sure, you can buy the kit from here...
It was called the S standing for sport like in the old mini, they changed over to the turbo as it ran more fuel efficiently and dropped the road tax from £220 a year to £145 on the emissions... they also put in an overdrive button on the turbo to give you and extra 10bhp kick to aid overtaking...
