Say for example a head gasket went on one of these, because the previous owner is a total muppet and told me he had recently changed it but hadnt, even tho i said i was going to change it as i wanted to keep the 140 thou mile motor in the mint condition it is... What do you recon the chances...

basically, due to too many people saying that fitting the r19 16v to my mk1 4dr clio was a bad idea, i sourced a 1.7 Turbo motor from a volvo... Just need to know what gearbox i can use, as the one i have here is an auto! :sick:

so putting the r19 engine in mine is a bad idea basically? i meean i want a full custom roll cage in mine + front & rear strut braces, surely that should solidify the car alot more?

i was told pretty much the same a while back... the thing is, the r19 is a total mess body wise (vandals) plus i hate driving them. I was hoping to be able to something with what i have, obviously i accept ill need other few parts. Seems like a bad idea? Anyone done this already?
