So long story short : alternator seized, aux belt shredded but not snapped, bits of aux belt eaten by engine which has messed up Cambelt engine now dead, this summarises what the garage told me earlier today. I'm not a mechanical person so unable to perform any work on the car myself so am...

Well this garage think it's the exhaust and basically said don't worry about it ... Will see how that goes for me :)

Got the car at another garage today am hoping it's third time lucky on solving this issue will let ya know how I get on

Have a read of that first link biojo posted for ya, did it on mine which was only blowing hot air and bingo hot and cold air, bit fiddly but only took 20 mins or so

Will get mine to someone to have a look see when I can next week, don't own any thing jack like for the car so won't attempt it myself. Will let you know how I get on, will also try to get a video of the noise up :D

I have exactly the same issue foot planted in 2nd I get bangs and stutters sometimes in 3rd too but not if I gradually plant foot. Have taken it to two garages locally so far to no avail, have effectively had a shrug and a meh noise made at me and injector clearner was suggested , have tried...

I have the same issue which turned out to be a crack by the cat had it welded and it went away, unfortunatly my exhaust rubbers were goosed so stuipdly had it welded before they arrived so it cracked again :( silly me

Heya all been wandering the forum for the last month on and off since buying my 182 just wanted to sign up and say thanks to you all as the info here is fantastic, been having some teething issues with her but think I am now on the right lines to sorting it. :p
