I wonder how easy it is to take out.
yeah a fine mesh would be a good idea. mine is just slightly bent and doesn't set flush on the button so i wanted to take it out.
Can I take it out completely ? all that plastic intake cowl thing.
Purely for the sake of aesthetics I think it would look better. (because you can kinda see the radiator now and you can maybe polish it up for more raw looks)
does it serve any important function ?
So after going to a dude who does alignment on this huge laser machine the results were not what I expected!
Front is ok, Left side has -0.5 camber and right side has -1.5 But I figure i could fix that with Eibach camber bolts.
The worrying part is the rear :(
The right side rear has 8.3mm...
Yeah i guess they know, But just wanted to ask if anybody knows the procedure they follow, how do they decide the internal cabin design of the box ?
I imagine they could just tell me yeah sure it's chambered, and just fabricate the cheapest thing ever and i bet i wouldn't even notice the...
K-Tec would involve shipping it internationally + Taxes, making it cost roughly twice as much if not more at the end.
Building a custom one should be much cheaper and probably it's my only option.
To give you an estimate, Scorpion exhaust with the single tip for the 172 costs around 520 pounds...
I don't want noise, I want it quite and deep kinda like OEM, but retain performance.
for example i've read that making the tip in a downward angle, lowers high frequency drone noises and amplifies low frequencies because the sound bounce from the floor.
Instead of buying a quality exhaust for my 1*2 I decided to let a shop design and build a custom one.
I've heard that the exhausts on the 1*2 should retain back pressure and because of that all exhausts are chambered designs ? is this correct ?
Is it possible to open up the OEM exhaust and copy...
Currently I have regular brembo discs (HC ? they are not slotted or anything) and ferodo premium pads all around.
I can get DBA T2 or Brembo MAX at around the same price point, was thinking about using Ferodo DS pads with them.
which one would you pick ? can't find alot of info about DBA...
RichieJA are you talking about the actual reflector lens inside the headlight ? Can it be taken out and cleaned ?
if you are refering to the entire headlight plastic then i will clean and polish it with a restoration kit i have.
i Will update on results.
I noticed there is a small white thing you can rotate with a hex screw on each headlamp, is that the height mechanism ?
my lens are kinda clouded but not too much ... i will clean them with a headlight restoration kit but i fail to see how that would make such a huge impact, they are not filthy...
Had osram nightbreaker extreme 120% or something, and the light output is very low.
changed to some "ok'ish" Xenons 6000k, looks alot better but still, the actual light on the road seems very weak compated to other xenons.
now i know the projectors are for hologens and not xenons on the ph1...
friend's 172 is just like that, struggles to rev past 6k, car has a 1.6 or 1.2 clio exhaust from the manifold to the backbox, mechanic told him car can't get the gasses out fast enough.
when it was on lift it was obvious it's too small compared to the oem exhaust the mechanic showed us.
would you care to elaborate please ? does the stock renault map is so poor that a new custom map with stock everything else is going to improve drivability ? how does that happen :frowning:
suspension adjustment confuses me.
previous owner runs this configuration, and he swears it's the best thing possible after many trials and errors, but i just dont get it.
It's a clio 1*2 phase 1.
