Also sometimes the Home button not functioning is software-related. Try performing a full backup/restore before seeking a hardware solution.

My 5 has started randomly vibrating every now and then - just like as if I'd recieved a text. However, I haven't had a text or any notification whatsoever.
I thought I was going mad, but it's just moved about on the table.

A quick google leads to notifications, and essentially turning off what you're not using. Useful.

Anyone else had this? Or am I going to keep having to exitedly leap up when I think somebodies texted me, only to be disappointed..

I get better than that.

plug the charger in, even when its not plugged into the wall, it beeps as if you just put it on charge!

Also, the other day the screen wouldn't respond to anything - it finally sorted its self out after being hard reset twice and me looking at it disapprovingly.

I've only had it a few weeks!

Think there's a trick to this. I think you need to add a contact. Anything just add and they should all show up.

I believe this happened on the iOS 4 to 5 update at one point.

Booked it at Apple tomorrow night for a few issues;

- Sleep button has a mind of its own
- Brightness goes up and down all on its on (auto brightness off)
- Something rattles inside it

Pretty dissapointed, my old iPhone 4 was the most reliable phone i've ever owned :(

I upgraded from my 4s. I was going to stick with the 4s until the new one is announced but the deal meant there's no point, the phone is subsided which means I'm paying $17 for 24 months (korean network). Ill sell this when the new one is out to fund the costs.

I probably could have negotiated a better sim only deal but I already have enough trouble just giving them money. Lol

Running off OSX or Windows?

OSX but it's sorted now. It was because my cuntacts sync over iCloud. I'd never noticed before, because my phone hasn't been empty since 2007, but when this is the case, syncing them through iTunes does absolutely nothing. Seems a bit strange to me that you can't do both, especially as iTunes just pretends it's doing it anyway. I'm sure there's a reason though. Anyway, crisis averted. Home button is still playing up though. I'm probably gonna get a 5 and maybe sell it to some sucker when the next worthy upgrade comes out.

You may have already tried it, but a good fix for the home button is to plug in the apple lead to the phone, then lift it/ rock it up towards the front of the phone. It gave my old 4 a new lease of life.

Fair enough man.. As per previous posts in this thread, some of the 'geniuses' are pricks tho as the lad who works for apple said, they're not all like that.

So yeah. iPhone 5. Love it. So much thinner and lighter. Screen is also better. Yeah I know, welcome to 2012.

5s is rumoured for later this year, only upgrades are supposedly a better camera and faster processor.. I wasn't impressed with the 4s over the 4 I had, needless to say I'll be keeping the 5 regardless of a 5s.

Coming from an apple hater, i wouldnt get anything else now. Yeah there maybe phones that are 'better' but the iphone just 'does' what it needs to very well.

Not bothered about the next one really. I don't have to have the latest and greatest. If it's awesome and worth upgrading to, then I'll perhaps dip my toe in a few months after release, when the inevitable small quality concerns have been overcome.

Oh and white is maximum player in a brown leather Sena sleeve.

For the crack, I just fired up my original 2007 iPhone. How times have changed. The screen is awful, and the frame rate is sluggish.

It started out as a jailbroken 1.0.0. Now it's running 3.0 and still has Cydia and Boss Prefs installed. Old school!
