Rear Speakers Clio Help =)

  Renault Clio 53 1.2
i have a 53 plate clio 1.2 16v with a tuner list radio, but there are no rear speakers and fancied fitting some

on iso b there are 8 wires
slots 1 and 2 are rear right
3 and 4 are front right
5 and 6 are front left
7 and 8 are rear left

there are wires coming out of all of these slots, so the wires from the head unit for the rear speakers must end up some where, any one now where they actually end, there are a lot of threads like this but just can't seem to find a straight answer, thanks

anyone? really would like to get some speakers fitted? if you follow the wires out the back of the head unit the 8 speaker wires all go left above the glove box anyone no were they go from there ?

Pull off your rear speaker covers (Literally put your hand in the grill and pull it out) then there should be a wire there to connect up to, if it isnt there then your going to have to put your own wires there like ive had to on mine.

Save your money and get some good components, mate.
To be honest, the speaker placement in the rear is awful for passengers, aswell as doing nothing for you.

i would have them in if youv got the money, sounds a little odd if you only have front speakers in, my opinion anyway

I though i might have to already had a look but no wires there its just strange cause they are in the back of the HU

yea tbh they do make a very big difference, gives you a lot more bass, and i have already upgraded my component speakers, took the dash off to do the tweeters

UPDATE;

before anyone says it not as much as a sub woofer lol.

100% agree with you, any ideas of what wires i would need? and which to cut in the back of the stereo cause all 8 wires for speakers are full

If the wires go from the back of the headunit connector then they should end up at the rear speaker panel, they could be dropped down somewhere so be sure to have a good look around.

Ive got 4 wires going from the back of mine, 2 for fronts, 2 for tweeters. Then ive had to plug in an RCA to an AMP, which has then got the rear speakers connected up to it along with a sub.

Best bet would be to upgrade fronts to components and then just shove the old front speakers in the back, pointless paying for rear speakers that only back seaters will hear :rasp:

if all the slots in the back of the sterio are full then all the wires are there, have you took the panels off and looked behind to see if theres wires in place but just no speakers in the rear?
if you need new cabling just search speaker wire on google or something mate.
in your manuel for the car there is a wiring diagram for the sterio so when/if you need new cables just follow that, its pretty easy to follow in the book

mate your cables will be around somewhere
try looking around where the seatbelt is bolted down to in the footwell. there is some trim there and the should run under there

First of all mate, don't take out your frustration on other members of the forum you are asking help from. You are misinformed about the spec of your car.

If it has the 16v engine then it is highly likely you will already have rear speakers. If you don't they will have been there but maybe removed by a previous owner. Go into the rear of your car, pull the bases of the rear seats forward and unclip the rear grills from the back of the car, using a big flat blade screwdriver for leverage(these grills are obvious though it does not sound like you've noticed them). There WILL (no dispute on this) be wires and connectors behind there.

If all else fails remove the door cards.

Take the lower rear seats off and you will see a bolt holding the rear seat belts in, undo that. There will also be a torx screw on a rail type thing on the floor holding the front seat belts in, remove that.

You can now pull off the door card and you should see the wire. If it's not there then you will have to run your own from the HU.

I have not long finished wiring up some rear 6x9s into a custom built dashboard and came across this thread while I too was scratching my head trying to find the elusive rear speaker wires!
I was encouraged by someone here who had insisted that they MUST be there somewhere but had to do a bit of detective work (and a lot of trim dismantling) to track them down.
For anyone still paying attention to this thread, I thought I'd let you know -
If you take apart the near-side sill trim (you'll need to unbolt seat belt and remove bonnet lever) you'll see a large connecting block next to the bonnet lever pin. The wires were found to be going in to this but not coming out again thus explaining their absence from the rear speaker holes. You'll have to double check your wires yourself in the back of the head unit but I found them to be the wires at the far left and far right of the speaker block (top for positive bottom for negative depending obviously on which way up you're holding your hu!) and running to the outside of the aforementioned connecting block (nice and simple to see from the front of the block so don't get too flustered at the millions of other wires going in and out of it)
Once I'd located what I thought to be the wires by looking at the colours, I temporarily wedged some speaker wire in to the same connections and attached the other ends to a speaker just to check they are correct (you could presumably connect two lots of wire into two separate speakers and set rear fading to max and alter the balance just to be extra certain)
Once this was done I simply cut the wires off the connecting block, stripped them back and soldered new wire from them to the corresponding rear speakers.
Easier said than done though! The sill trim is very tricky to reattach as the seat trim made everything tight and I chose to run the new wires along the same route as the lighting loom to the rear which involved unbolting seats and door cards and...well...basically everything!
Good luck! Hope this helps someone!

i have had a look at that block on mine and i really havent got them cables! mines a 5d 1.2 POV grande, and the terminal block looks completely differnt to that one!

Must be uber POV:p, or it must just be a ph1 thing.
It'll be a job routing wires from the back of the head unit.

If you even have a block there but not the same I'd look for what colour wires come out from the head unit e.g grey/purple. Then try to match them up then you could test them by linking up a speaker to them wires.

yeah it is mate uber pov im bloody fed up with it now! cant install anything. The fuse to make dual optics work cant be fitted as the terminals arent even there!
