all cliosports registered after March 2001. My tax is £210 at the moment, I believe its up to £260 at renewal time this year.

I heard it on the radio today as well, any one else able to clarify?

All the DCI 1.5 engines are the same for Renaults... They're going down to £20 whenever these prices change.

You can get about 70mpg out of them.

The cars made/registered before march 2001 are not measured on emissions so most clio 172mk1, clio 1.8 16v, and Williams will be paying around £200.

what they really should do is use the money they are taking in tax to develop a new cleaner type of travelling round, that can compare with petrol and diesel performance.
Sure they are electric cars n things like the Prius but practicality and performance just doesnt compare! whats the point in having a GWhizz in the country when you need to move a horse box or a car trailer or the like. Or even in towns when you want to take the dogs couple of miles to the local parkland... get rid of all politicians and get people who have common sense in there!!

You can get 80mpg on a 40mph cross country ride. Faster you go, less torque you have and more fuel you need to make the power. It still does 60mpg at about 65mph. But that's where it starts to fall fast. 80mph is around 45mpg, 90mph is down to 35-40. 100mph+ and it's around 35.

(This is my experience in a dci80. 65 is apparently less economical, though cheaper to buy insure etc and I doubt the difference is major).

Well for several months I did an urban commute. 10mph traffic for a few miles, then 30mph traffic, then a couple of miles at 60mph dropping back down to 30mph with loads of traffic lights I think it went down to 44mpg. That was hoofing it everywhere.

I imagine normally you could get 50+ round town.

P.S Diesel is a lubricant too, so short journeys are technically better on a diesel engine than a petrol.
