angelworks

  RS clio 182
i'v been to angelworks for inlets and remap on my 182,before going i got janspeed cat and exhaust also itg panel filter.
So in all its,
exhaust £346
cat £287
filter £48
inlets/map£540
total £1221
my car, other than a raised rev limit,SOD ALL differance,no quicker in any way.
if it is,its the weight saving from the 1K plus missing from my back pocket,
IM GUTTED, my advice to you if your'e thinking about it DONT DO IT.:nono:

at least you actually got the work finished which is an amazement in itself lol.

not making light of the situation mate, I know you must be pissed off, I am/was too but for different reasons... either way, sounds like we both got ripped off...

There must be something wrong elsewhere. Mine feels completely different to before. I've had the same mods carried out, but on a 172. Admittidly top end power isn't quite how I was expecting it but there is so much more grunt low down and it revs smoother, which on the road makes it a lot quicker! On the dyno which as everyone pointed out before is probably not accurate it made 197bhp. So even with a pinch of salt to those figures it would still be making decent power!

Four people have drove the car since all the works were finished and they had all drove the car before as well and all of them were amazed with how it now goes.

Mines:
Yozzasport exhaust + decat
P Murray map (same as yours I think)
Inlets matched at angelworks

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
I've had similar mods except I went for a Grp N ECU and I have a supersprint exhaust. Can beat a standard 182 quite comfortably.

Sorry to hear about your disaster....

Just seen, you paid 287 for a cat? :S

Mine makes 189.7 up from 181.9 std.

How?

TBR exhaust (£1.57)
ITG filter from steve (£20)

Try getting that kinda increase for £21.57 from anywhere else!

Right well that makes this thread pointless.

Well done, why didnt you speak to him before moaning on here?
Some people!

Mines sh1t for the money iv put in also.

Got headwork, cams, inlet, decat, map, Maxogen and still only get a 14.7 down the quarter!

Could have bought a small turbo'd car and got 300 bhp + for the money spent

You can see my point.

This kinda thing is how little feuds start, should be removed IMHO.
How do you know all is well? if i spent that and wasnt happy id let him check and give him the chance to sort it out.

Coming straight on here and bitching isnt gonna help you or your car.

gains are always going to be minimal for the money spent on the clio

you pay a lot of ££ for a few brake with the 2.0 na :( compared to turbos

Quite right. I wouldn't be broadcasting it to the net. Speak to him first and if you're still not happy, get it sorted. Then come on and tell us how happy you are.

This sort of thing doesn't do businesses any favours.

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
did you have it inderpendatly RR? before and after?

also if you just spent the best part of 1.2k and you would take it on the chin? mmmmm

It is unfair not to talk to angelworks about it first, but hey your entitled to your opinion and your just saying whats happened.

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
He's simply stating he isn't happy with the gains for his mods, how is that damaging a business? Other people have mentioned they were happy.

It's no good just having threads that praise these companies, the real stories need to be told too.

On topic, I really wouldn't of paid 287 for a sports cat, pay 80 for a simple decat and that saves 200 straight away.

Thats tosh, we are all human and make the odd mistake.
People should be given the chance to make amends.

The same would go for any of the other tuners on here, trial by moaning has caused nothing but trouble on here.

John's experience was similar to mine. The fact is that these mods do not give good gains, if any. Some people on here convince themselves otherwise, for reasons beyond me.

aye, completely see where your coming from, shouldn't be removed though, that wouldn't be fair to other companies who just get mindlessly slagged off for the hell of it.

But I'd speak to Ben deffo, a before and after RR should have been done really, too late now though.

As for gains, I'd expect something for £1200, but then I'd have spent that on cams and not inlets, but even basic breathing mods and especially a remap should make an obvious difference in my experience.

Its perfectly fine for John to express his feelings of the work carried out on his car, it keeps us all humble and striving for more.

He doesnt need my concent to say what he wants.

Unfortunatly not all cars gain massive amounts, and 5-8bhp isnt going to make your hear race as you can loose more power by just driving from sea level to the alps. There is no way we can gaurantee that every car will make a set % gain.

However, we would of been quite instantly willing to help out on the day as i did say it was perfectly fine for you to come right back after the test drive.

I apologies for the less than impressive gains John, to day we have had 3 less than impressed customers, all 182 owners (none trophy) so the percentages are low.

Fair enough, good points from jon.

Just so everyone knows i have never used ANY of the companies that advertise on CS but i do believe in fairness to all.

I can't get to grips with £1221 for a possible 5-8bhp or even nothing gain? These cars must be very close to their limits already.

Down the pub a new filter would be giving 20bhp ;)

lol, to be fair James it depends who you listen to and what you know already in terms of what gives you what. Sure, inlets are a good mod, IF your stock one is well out, but if not I'd hope a tuner would turn round and say there is little point in doing it and spend it on cams instead. For £1221 cams would be the main weapon of choice for me, even over basic breathing mods. Cams and remap can be done for that, that's an easy proven and almost guaranteed 10bhp+ with no other mods.

i would agree - sports cats are a big waste of money since they dont give you the same gains as a decat but costs 3 x as much

  Clio v6
I see. So if your manifold is reasonably shiny there's not much need for another wee wipe with a brillo pad.

A manifold and remap doesnt quite come in at the same budget as cams/labour and a remap, so its not something i would advise. Trying to swap a sale from £500 to £1600 isnt very polite imo.

Quick thread highjack*

are the 'RS' inlets supposidly better than the stock units?

mine has a noticeable improvement which can be backed up by all the 182/172 owners who have had a drive in it :D

Why didn’t you get all the work done then get a remap, surely the remap only remaps to the mods you have fitted?

Yes i know, I’m a kn*b just reread post:cry:
