Lowered 60mm and looks same still, HELP ME?!

Lowered my car 60mm on shocks with gmax extra low 60mm set of lowering springs, the back is crazy low and the front has barely moved it looks like a plane ready for departure lol, why may this be? I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them , but will they lower down after theyre worn in a little more or is that how It is? Please help thanks

Could it be sitting on the bumpstops? I did cut them 22mm as the box said to cut them down 22mm minimum when lowering

My springs took about a thousand miles to bed in properly if that helps you? It dropped another cm or two after that to a point where I struggle to get the jack under it lol but it most certainly didn't look like a plane taking off once I was done.

I'd make sure the front springs are correctly seated, as they only fit 1 way.

If they are, get some heffa to bed them in by bouncing on the front end.

Yes till my updated shocks come and they're fit properly yes, it wa the bumpstops I cut

Have you made sure you've brought the right springs? Like if you brought some for a 172/182 it would sit higher because of less engine weight

How has it gone horribly wrong? Your meant to cut the bumper a minimum of 22mm as said in the box guys, it's only a rubber thing that' stops car from bottomin out so when lowered needs to be shorter and yes they're 1.2 springs

Yes thnaks that's what I meant to putn basically I fitted a full 60mm lowering spring set to my mk2 ph1 1.2 and they are sat propperly and fitted correctly however the front is higher than the back by about 4/5 cm,
The box had a leaflet from larkspped saying "warning original bump stops must be reduces by 22mm minimum" and so I cut the bumpStops 22mm (a bumpstop is a rubber thing in the middle of your shock absorber between the springs to stop the shocks from bottoming out , hence why when the cars lowered they need cuttimg so it don't bottom out every bump it hits) I just wondered why its higher at the front and my theory was maybe I have not cut the bump stops enough and it is sitting on the bumpstops rather than the spring possibly , I exadurated with saying it looks like a plane taking off it is simply half way down tyre at back and the front the arch is a good 5cm above tyre , thanks again ( sorry for spelling I'm on my gf's blackberry :/

if they are fitted correctly then its possible the springs may have been boxed up wrong.

Do note the car is faCing up hill a little so it lower.a a tiny bit mone on flat and the bacl bumper is off to spray the bumper strip

the back is 25-30 mm lower at the most, that's not 60 mm lower! That being said why would you want it 60 mm lower? it's hugely low and it will ride and handle like crap!
Mine for example is about 25-30mm lower in the front (measured not assumed) and even by this small amount I get occasional rubbing under cornering
Unless you want it strictly as a show car I don't see the point really for going that low.

^ this guy doesn't know. 60mm isn't 'show car only' height. My old car was lowered 40mm and was still considered fairly high. People have lowered their clios by 90/100mm on coilovers etc, and they are still drive able.

On topic: your springs are fucked. Get a refund/contact GMax or whoever. Get a set of TA Technixx coilovers or some apex 40mm springs designed for your specific car.

Are you mental? 60mm is 2 inches. Most non sports have about 3.5+ of arch gap. 60mm isn't going to kill anyone.

The back is FAR too low, you've done something massive wrong, either ordered the wrong springs or god knows what.

Not even kidding before I took my 1.2 off the road it was perfectly driveable and the front was about 120mm down and rear was at least 90mm.....

Still had about 2cm left to go on the front coilovers (if that)

I was mostly referring to what happens to the angle of the lower arms and the driveshafts if lowered that much. things like the roll center will be all over the place but maybe this stuff is not that important if not hammering it about in the corners or doin' track days
Been searching a little and the average non sport has a 120 mm ground clearance. If you lower it 100 mm you will nearly end up scraping the floor so I don't see how that's possible. Judging by this only a 60 mm drop seems quite a lot in my point of view

have you measured beneath the subframe before and after? that doesn't look like a 60 mm drop on the front tbh.
GAZ said that their coilover kit which I have could go 60 or more mm lower but in real life if I tried to go 60 mm lower the car would be standing on the bump stops on the front leaving no shock travel at all. Maybe some of you guys are measuring the drop in other ways, I'm always taking measures under the subframe
