Show us your home made tools that work and cheap to make ?

Made a bead roller yesterday out of some mole grips, exhaust clamp and washer to swage some alloy boost hoses for a R5gtt im working on. Total cost £0

Works great miles better than anticipated. Excuse the s**t welding all i had is a knackered mig, done the job though.

My pikey slide hammer and you can see to the left there’s a shocker and spring compressor. I’ve made stupid amounts of tools for stupid s**t jobs[emoji23] Mainly pulling tools because f**k paying £30 for a bearing or a drum puller when I can make something out of some plate

Thats a decent slide hammer to be fair. The last one i made was basically a weight and threaded bar, i think ill make one the same next time i need one

Not really a tool at all but something I had to "modify" to help me change the wheel bearings today.

One tasty bead of weld around the outer race and then press it out with the hydraulic press. Worked amazingly well

That a Clio bearing?

If so a Corsa C from wheel bearing outer casing fits perfectly in the middle on the Centre race. Makes life so much easier having a shelf full of old bearing casings etc lol

Bead of weld works awesome when removing the outer casing on a bearing..banjo it out with a chisel when hot

I got it nice and hot then put it in the press. It would have gone without but I really like my face and teeth

Made this out of my scrap bin, for locking up the crank pulley on my Volvo S60 D5 when doing the cambelt.

Service interval is 96,000 miles so i've used it once when I made it, got another 64k to go before its needed again lol!
