Curborough is just up the road from me.
I thought it was bud.
Another great update mate. :)

Have fun at Curborough. It's a fun little sprint track but I don't think it will truly show you the potential of your car. I'm not knocking the place at all; I just feel you'd get even more from somewhere like Brands or Donington. Regardless, it will be a fun day anyway so enjoy it buddy!
Cheers mate, for now it will do and im sure it will be fun, with the short gear ratio of the Spec C the short sprint track will suit it well.
I want to know hoe well the car handles when it all gets out of shape and with my silly diffs it will be a good learning curve for me without the fear of smashing it up on the road.

In fact @Phase1sr Iโ€™ll probably hear you come past if you go on the A38 and give it some berries as you go past Lichfield!! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Haha, tbh mate my car isn't very loud but i will try my best. If youre free then please fee free to pop over, it will be nice to meet you bud.

The smaller front plate suits it so well, it's much better than the other one ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Cheers mate, i think so.

Looking great.
I really think it needs a private plate to finish the outside off.
Thanks mate, like what?

Ive found V7 EVL (the bug is a verson 7)

That's what I said at work after I did some four wheel donuts lol :D.

Ah so it is the headers that make the difference. It sounds ace mate, like it's running more boost than it is
Yes mate, the Spec C came with equal headers from factory. Mine has aftermarket tubular one's with the up pipe to the turbo along with a de-cat down pipe.

lol, no but Wheel Works in Crawley did mine in bronze recently (I was really dubious before I picked them up) and I'm pleased with them. I think it's a BMW colour, but I can find out.
If you could that be amazing. Cheers dude. I'm juggling between buying some bronze car paint from halfrauds. Or ordering some from ebay. But them in not sure. I hear bmw or fiat bronze paint codes are nice match

Getting back on track.......

Early start on Sunday, i had to be at Steve's house to collect my helmet at 8.30 so that gave me plenty of time to get to over to Curborough. Ended up at Steve's at 8.10am so had a cup of tea and a lovely chat with him, the drive from his house to Curborough was fantastic with some great roads.
Got to Curborough for 9.30, noise test was fine with my car being 93db @ 4k (limit was 105db)

One a side note, i went for a lap in this. My lord what a car i really thought that i wouldn't be impressed but i was. Because its a JDM car it still retains the 2.0 and not the 2.5 in the UK spec cars and is ultra rare in the yellow and this car had only covered 18,000 miles.

I saw one of the Cosworth Impezas in that shape once, I think it was grey. I thought it was pretty nice, apparently they're rare too.
Yes mate they are, i think they where 400hp from factory. This is a hatch Spec C, was quite quick around track.
It had silly stuff like AC, traction and air bags.

Haven't driven the car since the track day but it was booked in for its MOT on the 28th of July, car passed with flying colors and i was surprised that ive covered 1800 miles in that time.

As some of you may remember, the dash had damage from its life in Japan someone had stuck something to it and then taken it off which had marked the dash coating and in pulling it off had also raised that area. Every time i drove the car this bugged me as it was in my eye line. I finally sorced another dash in great condition and yesterday i made a start on fitting it.

Because the Spec C doesn't have any fancy electrics or sound deadening there wasn't much under the dash, everything came apart easy and there is only 4 bolts holding the dash into place.

The old dash with a few bits removed.

Bit more removed, getting close to removing the dash

And that's pretty much it, there was a cable that was fixed and tucked behind the plastic air pipes which took a bit of time to get out but once out it wasn't used and was for the factory alarm LED which this car doesn't have.

Had my little helper help me hold the dash so i could remove the alarm LED cable, note the bath towel protecting the steering wheel surround.

Top work as always fella. lol at there only being 4 bolts holding the dash in, that's ace. Probably about 250 in the current model for example.
Cheers, i may un bolt it again on Saturday so that i can fix the alarm box behind it rather that it being wedged behind the clocks, may also look into buying a tracker.

Should enter some concourse competitions at this rate, probably the cleanest example of any Scooby around.
You can be confident there's probably not another Spec C that's had the same treatment as this one that's for sure. There's been a few at auction recently but it would take a great deal to get them to where Scott has gotten this one, even with low mileage.

You'll be surprised mate, they are quite a few tasty cars about. Mines nice but still very usable which is what I want. ๐Ÿ™‚

Probably not mate but then and again not many are as stupid as me and spend the time driving them. ๐Ÿคฃ

But it's nice when people do see it and appreciate the hard work and ยฃยฃยฃยฃยฃ I've put into it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

Saturday I spent the day messing about with wire's and I've managed to fit the alarm box in a much better place without having to remove the dash.
The dash finishing trims around the air vents and stero had a few marks on them so I emailed Subaru to see if they could still be bought new. Unfortunately not so the only option was to get them painted and by someone I could trust to get the colour match as close to factory as possible and the finish.

The first person that popped into my head was @gally now I follow the company he works for on Instagram and from the years of being on this site I know how good at detailing he is and how passionate he is in his work so for me this was a no brainer, I just had to hope that he would be willing to take such a small job on.

After a message to him he said yes, I package the parts up and they have been sent all the way to Scotland for some loving. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
With that done I'm going to finish off the wiring this weekend ready for when the trims come back. ๐Ÿ˜

Any updates Scott ? Where have you gone ?
I don't bother coming on here bud.

Not a massive amount mate, replaced the felt guides for the front door glass, finished off the wiring and clean out the old wax oil from the doors while they where in bits.

The old wax oil would stain the sills every time it rained, I've now protected them with Bilt hamber stuff.

Oh took it out the other Sunday and stuck the GoPro to the bumper. Cought this on film from when I changed gear.
